Movement is medicine

Pilates is a full-body, low-impact exercise system that promotes strength, stability, flexibility, posture, balance, control, awareness and alignment; ultimately helping you move with greater ease and fluidity in everyday life.

Joseph Pilates 1883-1967

Originally named “Contrology’, the Pilates method was invented in the early 20th century by German physical trainer, Joseph Pilates. The Pilates system is taught in many countries worldwide.

Exercises are often performed on a mat or on specialised equipment, such as: the Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table or Stability chair, all of which use springs to create resistance through the full range of motion, without stressing the joints.

Prehab is a boutique Pilates studio, in a private and peaceful setting.

Prehab is not a ‘Reformer Pilates’ studio. Previously operating at Pulse Pilates, Prehab has been a highly respected provider of Clinical Pilates for over twenty years.

Your Pilates journey starts with a 55 minute appointment. This appointment includes:

Each session includes the use of a variety of Pilates equipment, including:

  • Reformer

  • Cadillac/Trapeze Table

  • Stability Chair

  • Ladder Barrel

  • A variety of small Pilates equipment and props

Sessions are 55 minutes in duration.
Semi-private sessions are available upon request.

Zoom sessions are also available.

I have been attending Pilates with Sarah for a long time. I find my classes to be challenging and informative – challenging in that I don’t do the same every week, and informative, as I am constantly amazed at the new exercises Sarah presents to keep me interested and working in new ways. She works with my immediate limitations while pushing me to get better every class

My daughter found her ‘happy place’ when she started attending Pulse Pilates. Sarah got to know and understand my daughter, creating a calm, quiet atmosphere to help look after her whole body. Pulse Pilates has helped my daughter both mentally and physically.

I have been training with Sarah at her studio for five years. Yesterday was my second online session with Sarah and it was amazing.
I used my own basic equipment. Sarah was able to work me hard by adapting exercises that I would normally do in the studio, to suit my home equipment. Sarah was able to give me lots of correction with her view from my device, and knows how to push me to get the best from me, even in my home workspace. She was still quick to spot if I wasn’t doing something correctly! Thanks Sarah
